»Of my last days with you«

by Rantikwane Legwale, August 7, 2008

With the patience of a vulture you subtly invaded my life,
Me always thought I was the epitome of contentment in life,
Me thought the tempest and trials of life had me retired,
Alas! 'Twas mere wishful thinking, soon I got tired.

The first time ever I laid eyes on you, my boat was rocked,
I was toppled as from a high horse, and thoroughly mocked,
Resistance failed me; I failed resistance and meekly gave in,
I succumbed to your warmth, lovingly exuded from within.

The better a relationship, the better the creation of its hurt,
It is a truth that stands firm against all of life and its hurt,
Ours has grown like a well nurtured, well kept vineyard,
What shall its end be, will it be headed for the graveyard?

These are my last days with you,
As I go away my love stays with you,
Will it be out of sight out of mind?
In absence, you will be on my mind!

»Where are the wings for my flight?«

Like a bird I want to fly away, / Reach out to blue skies above, / The liberty that soothes the ache away / To be carried yonder like a dove. / / Where are the wings for my flight? / Can I take to the skies without them? / Who shall avail the wings for the ride? / Are you willing to let me have them? / / My  sign in to read more »

»I saw her today«

I saw her today and my heart was deeply moved, / One warm look was sufficient to give me joy, / And attraction was the warm chemistry that soothed, / As the roaring waves of my heart knew great joy. / / I saw her today and my heart's storms were quelled, / Some loving soul said "she is tailor made for me  sign in to read more »
