»Dear Father«

by Fakazile Nkosi, January 24, 2017

If you had to chose, I know you would be here with me
There isn't time that passes by without thinking of you, you're constantly on my mind, memories and times we've shared keeps me going.
And I intend to fulfill all your dreams and the plans you had.

Though you're no longer in this world I know I'm never alone I see you smile daddy and all my troubles fade away.

You tried I know you did I saw your strength as you battled day by day fighting to the bone, fighting to stay alive but eventually this illness consumed you,
if I could oh Lord only if I could I would wipe off this cancer from the face of the world, you left a trail of broken hearts
