»shouting at you«

by Bartho Geldenhuys, September 21, 2009

how do I differentiate between lost and confused
where I wanted to be but heading with no direction
do you know what you have done to me, you are breaking me apart
coming home to an empty shell, the cage you have built for me
eyes that seek, questions that do not get answered
all I hear is blame, accusations – you! you! you!
what is it that you want from me, what more can I offer you?
what more do you want to steal from my soul?
have I not given you all, is that not enough?
my hurting, belonging, going down on my knees...
simply saying, forgive me for what I am!
love me for as I love you, no shortcomings too huge to overcome!
cry I cry to myself, embarrassed if you had to hear,
pass the night embarrassing myself, promising that things will get better!
each passing day, the pain is growing on me, can I expect some return?
life is to be lived, I shout!
can I break free, can I move on, are your memories allowing me to?
is this choice mine, fight with this question, over and over
do I erase you, hate you, replace you or simply say I loved you!

"Thankyou for the kind words.

Things happen for a reason I believe, so yes, I do believe that somewhere out there she is waiting for me."

"I like how you ended your poem I hope you can get love returned"
